Reliable Washing and Air-Knife Drying for Flat Glass
The SZ-W25 horizontal glass washing and drying machine is engineered for efficient, continuous cleaning of large flat glass sheets.
A gear-driven roller conveyor transports the glass through the pre-spray, brush-washing and air-drying sections. Conveyor speed is controlled by an inverter and can be adjusted from 0 to 14 m/min according to the glass dimensions, surface condition and required drying result.
The machine combines powerful washing performance, effective air-knife drying and straightforward operation, making it suitable for glass factories processing different glass types, thicknesses and order sizes.
Three Pairs of Independently Driven Brushes
The washing section is equipped with three pairs of brush rollers. The upper and lower brush groups are driven independently by two motor groups, providing stable brush rotation and consistent contact with the glass surfaces.
Water is continuously sprayed onto the glass during brush washing to remove dust, glass powder, oil residue and other contaminants remaining from previous processing operations.
The standard water-heating system supports stable washing performance under different ambient and production conditions.
Suitable for Online and Offline Low-E Glass
The SZ-W25 can be configured for float glass, coated glass and both online and offline Low-E glass.
The upper brush arrangement consists of two hard brushes and one soft brush. When Low-E glass is processed, the two upper hard brushes are pneumatically lifted so that the soft brush cleans the upward-facing coated surface.
This arrangement reduces unnecessary contact with sensitive coatings while retaining effective cleaning of the uncoated glass surface.
Independent Infeed Pre-Spray System
Before entering the main brush-washing section, the glass passes through an independent pre-spray system.
The pre-spray section has its own water tank and circulation system. It removes loose particles and surface contamination before the glass reaches the main brushes, helping improve washing efficiency and reduce the transfer of contaminants into the main washing section.
Two Pairs of Air Knives
After washing, the glass enters the drying section, where two pairs of blower-fed air knives remove residual water from the glass surfaces.
A frequency-controlled centrifugal blower allows the air volume to be adjusted according to glass thickness, conveying speed and drying requirements. The standard heated-air system further improves drying performance, particularly at higher production speeds or under low-temperature conditions.
The drying process uses high-velocity airflow rather than physical contact, helping the glass leave the machine clean and dry for subsequent processing.
Siemens PLC and Touchscreen Control
The SZ-W25 uses a Siemens PLC with a touchscreen interface for machine operation and process monitoring.
Operators can manage the conveying speed, washing system, blower and other operating functions through a clear, centralized interface. Different processing settings can be selected according to the glass type and production requirements.
Corrosion-Resistant Wet Zone
All machine components in contact with water are made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials.
This construction helps protect the washing section from corrosion, simplifies daily cleaning and supports reliable operation in continuous glass-processing environments.
Convenient Maintenance Access
The complete upper washing and drying structure can be raised by 350 mm.
This provides convenient access to the brush rollers, air knives, conveying rollers and internal washing area for cleaning, inspection and routine maintenance.

How the Glass Washing Machine Works
1. Glass Infeed
The glass is placed on the horizontal roller conveyor and automatically transported into the machine.
2. Pre-Spray
The independent infeed pre-spray system removes loose dust, glass powder and other surface particles before the glass enters the main washing section.
3. Brush Washing
Three pairs of rotating brush rollers wash the upper and lower surfaces of the glass while heated process water is sprayed onto the glass.
4. Low-E Glass Processing
For Low-E glass, the coated surface faces upward. The upper hard brushes are pneumatically lifted, allowing the soft brush to clean the coated surface.
5. Air-Knife Drying
Two pairs of air knives use high-velocity heated airflow to remove residual water from both glass surfaces.
6. Glass Outfeed
The clean and dry glass leaves the machine ready for inspection or subsequent processing.
